As the Student Government Association of Penn State Harrisburg, we recognized that the culture of community service on our campus was lacking. To solve this issue, in November of 2018 we created a movement titled "It's Bigger Than You PSU", and in this movement, we motivated all clubs and organizations on campus to do at least one community service event each month (Promotion video below). We even extended this challenge to all Penn State campuses. This movement is off to an amazing start, and many clubs are organizations are doing amazing work in the community. However, we also recognized that there was a need to integrate our school into the community. Our purpose is to serve in all ways possible, so we must fulfill it. On Sunday, April 7th, 2019, we will be hosting "It's Bigger Than You" The 5K - A Run for a Purpose, running through the Middletown community while raising awareness for an issue that is affecting the world daily: hunger.
